New group announces plansA new group that aims to help develop entrepreneurs from among the almost 160,000 Filipinos in Hong Kong, has announced its plans. The group, which named itself the Filipino Association for Micro-Entreprenership (FAME), said the main projects include investment talks, and the setting up of its own website (http://www.sunweb.com.hk/fame) to lead them to a wealth of business knowhow, and listings of business ideas. FAME was formed during an entrepreneurship seminar conducted recently by the Graduate School of the University of Santo Tomas at the Consulate. Elected chief executive was Leo A. Deocadiz, The SUN publisher; Julie Allones, finance manager and Daniel Domingo, coordinator. In a meeting, the officers also agreed to appoint Cielita Carenan, president of The SUN Organization, as executive secretary. |
